Fundraising

From shopping online, to bringing in bottle tops, there are so many ways you can help your local Scout group. Find out more below.

Easy Fundraising.com

Easy Fundraising allows you to shop online at several retailers and we receive a donation at no cost to you.
The list of retailers include the likes of Amazon, John Lewis, M&S and Expedia to name a few. You can find the full list of retailers here, there are quite a lot of them!

Simply visit the Easy Fundraising website at the start of your online shop or use their internet toolbar. Choose a retailer on their website and shop on the retailers website as usual. When you’ve finished shopping, we get a donation from the retailer. And it costs exactly the same as if you’d gone direct to the retailer’s website.

Just Text Giving

Just Text Giving makes it super easy to donate to the group, perfect for when we’re out and about doing adventurous activities.

To donate simply grab your phone and:

Text NFNS15 and the amount (including £ sign) to 70070.

For example to donate £5, text NFNS15 £5 to 70070.

Events

Each year we hold specific fundraising events to connect with our local community and fundraise for the group. Some are regular events, such as bag packing at a local supermarket or our Christmas Fayre, whereas others are more infrequent, such as a Fashion night or a family game of skittles.

In addition to these yearly activities, each week we have the Antler Club, our bingo club every Thursday evening, with all profits from this being returned to the group.

Second Hand Books

We have a diverse range of second hand books available to buy in our Scout HQ – simply come along whenever we’re open for an event and make a donation, no matter how big or small, although we’d recommend at least 20 pence per item.
At certain times of the year we also hold bigger second hand book sales or bring them along to car boot sales held in Totton. Check our website or social media feeds for details on these.

Collections

We collect lots of items which can earn us some money.

  • Old mobile phones – simply pop in a bag or the box in the HQ.
  • Used printer ink cartridges – pop them in the box at the HQ or take an envelope from the HQ, put two cartridges in there and post them free of charge.
  • Plastic bottle tops – any with the number 2 or 4 in a recycling triangle, milk and drinks bottle tops are ideal. There are collection points inside the Scout HQ.
  • Clothing, shoes and towels – bagged and placed in the Rag Bag bin in the car park of our HQ. All of these are either resold or recycled, find out more on their website.

Active Kids is back, get involved.Sainsbury’s Active Kids

We’re part of the Sainsbury’s Active Kids voucher scheme.

Simply collect the vouchers given out at Sainsbury’s supermarkets, convenience stores and petrol stations and put them in the box at our HQ. You get one for every £10 you spend on your shop (£5 in local stores) either in store on online delivery. By helping us to collect, and by spreading the word to friends, family and work colleagues, we can collect a fair amount each time so we can get new sports, cooking and gardening equipment for free!

Gift aid itGift Aid

If you are a UK tax payer, you can also Gift Aid any donations to the group (including subs and capitation money).
This means we can claim back some money (25p for every £1) from the government, at no expense to yourself. Our sections may ask our parents to fill out a Gift Aid form upon registration.
